An author of the years 70-80: David Morgon

AUTHOR DAVID MORGON ITS TRUE CHRISTIAN NAME Mandon

AMONG SOME BLANKETS
36 TITLES PUBLISHED IN BLACK RIVER

David Morgon having died some years ago, at my request, his wife was kind enough to answer my questions.
Answers:
"I ask that you apologize for the delay in responding, I had to do some research to be precise about dates and do not forget anything important.
As I said before, my husband had said he wrote his books while teaching French in a college of St-Etienne. The Black River has published 36 novels in the series "Special Police" in 1974 to 1987.Mon husband also wrote the script for a comic book "The Ruby of Life" designed by Jean-François Biard, edited by Magic Strip in 1984.
Two works have been adapted for TF1 (Series winner with the Triple Raymond Pellegrin) Le Manoir widows with Nicoletta and Fado for a girl from the "Great Purge".

I will defer to the author to explain the genesis of a novel (excerpts of a response to a reader admirer of Lyon in January 1980) _
on his hero: "As you rightly note, is Morgon anti hero when compared to James Bond and other SAS His exploits police do are not spectacular, it does not use sophisticated equipment, it has over its insistence that its genius to succeed and he happens to fail, as in the Pagnot by exemple.Quand his love life, she does reduced to sexual performance because it is a tender and sentimental. "
- the detective novel:" I always thought that the detective novel was a realistic genre par excellence. That's why I created a character with deep roots, so his adventures take place in a setting still true and accurate. It speaks well of what we know as well. Morgon I done to my image and my best books are they not those that occur in the Ardèche country that I particularly like and where I lived as a child. "

-the genesis of a novel:" How assembles a thriller type Morgon? Initially, there is an idea, a theme. For example, Death of a loufiat, just out: tax evasion. Around this idea, characters appear, organized a plot, scenes become clearer. This is the incubation period. It may take a week as well as a year!
then I make a very precise cutting of narrative writing. This is the most delicate work, one that requires the most concentration: I Indeed the stories structurally sound, firmly structured.
This preparation is completed, the actual writing of the book is no longer any difficulty. It's only a matter of time, leisure, free time. It's a happy time: a month or two I live with my characters, I share their Jois and failures, I spin the web of the dream created by writing. "

I hope you will agree that these explanations . I'll send you a picture published in the monthly local town at the time of the publication of "Alley crêt Roc", written during the first book festival in Saint-Etienne October 86.

An author from 1960 to 2009: André Caroff

André Caroff , whose real name
Andre Carpouzis

We are in the month of March 2009, André Caroff just passed away at the age of 85.
I just learned parl'intermédiaire an email sent by his last publisher: "White River." I

twice last year talked at length on the phone with Andre Carpouzis . And he kindly invited me to come home, if I were visiting the region Annecy ... In recent weeks, I could not reach him by phone and a nagging bad feeling about myself, feeling that was true Sunday, March 15, 2009, right in the book fair: A strange coincidence!

The lines that follow are taken from one of his books, the saga of Madame Atomos , Published by White River, its last editor.

I would not talk about his life before, that he made a thousand trades. This exciting life, you can find by purchasing the book from White River. I think what fascinates me, always, when in the head, one begins to "write" and say that we will perhaps one day publish, and that very often invented stories, of interest readers.
So as I said earlier, once again he has just left her job to become a taxi driver in order to continue to write. Because it started ... avaitdéjà
... Married, he was living 72 Boulevard Saint-Marcel , near the Gobelins, the Jardin des Plantes, Place d'Italie , Market Street Mouffetard and the Pantheon. Sometimes miracles do exist! The e
conditions Black River settle in front of the building Andre Caroff . He had already published in Le Parisien Libéré signed a series of stories whose real name Carpouzis and then in a small publishing house with no future. He began working as the galleys. Ten hours of radio-taxi and four hours of writing by day with a taxi rest every week. After four years of effort , and two depressed, then his first book, "Neurosis", was published in 1960, signed the name of Andre Caroff .
Andre became buddy-buddy with Frederic Dard, Andre Lay Claude Rank , Peter Randa etc.. At that time, they were a hundred authors at Black River, whose names are now lost in the darkness of memory. Then, the birth of a daughter, Frances, born in 1962 came the larger family.
Andre Caroff wrote in all the series: Special- Police, Espionage, Anxiety, Anticipation. Two of his novels were brought to the screen, with Raymond Pellegrin , "The trickster," with Alain Delon , "The Beating". Andrew worked in parallel with Abder Isker , and wrote for 18 films TF 1, including four of his second wife, Danielle, 45 radios France-Inter, with 500 new Danièle for the magazine "We Two "under the pseudonyms of Daniel and Danielle Aubry Thomas .
In 2006, Andrew was contacted by the White River for publishing a cover of Ms. Atomos and the creation of the series of Mandarin.
Meanwhile, his first wife, Caroll died at age 77 in 2002, and Daniele was killed in April 2006. Andre has become very visually impaired in 1989, but just had surgery of the cornea, allowing it to regain the light. The children grew up.
bad ... Andre Caroff had found a second life by working for White River. But
Life and death are intertwined and do not care about the passions or goals of the poor wretches that we are.

Question: How to get out of the Living Dead?
Answer: no! ... Waiting!

Tawnee Stone In Chocolate

An author of the 60 that I knew well: Andrew Lay

As a novelist, I'm going to call my memories because I ' I "attended" sporadically for twenty years.
I back to the years 1962-1963, just after my military service.
Long before I was 14 when I started reading the collection Black River, especially the "special police" and "espionage". I became a fan and I invent stories of already.
One of my favorite authors was Andre Lay . I liked his way of telling and each book, a very different story with different heroes. Sometimes they went very near me.
And then one day in the local newspaper, the photo of Andrew Lay with his dog. I learned her name, city and André Boulay he lived in Saint-Maur-des-Fosses (94). I lived in the town next door.
I allowed myself to call him and this great man, not by size but by the imagination (he "pond" four novels a year and that for at least thirty years. Overall, 140 novels to his credit are , including some for the big screen. I remember an American movie "Men of Las Vegas" from one of his books.)
For his work if my memory is correct, when he began to write was from 9am to 12pm and 14pm to 18pm. Everything by hand. Then replay and then pass from the typist. during that month, he refused to be disturbed. Only work mattered. The entire work lasted about two months. He still had a month to possibly pondering a new story

At that time I started writing and I gave him a manuscript to the Black River: denied.
I saw him 3 times or 4 times a year before a beer or whiskey. We were talking about books and authors and how had her first manuscript was accepted, because his "real" job market was a butcher in the morning and afternoon, he wrote stories. It was almost the beginning of the Black River and he was looking for sponsors. He was among the first novelists to enter the collection.
Time passed and one day after a phone call, we went by car to the markets in Paris, where his friend and novelist Alain Page turned his first film as director.

Time passed again, and retired, he and his wife went to live in the south. We lost sight of his death and learned through Alain Page whom I phoned. I have since found his wife who lives in the Paris region.
All my life I've been a fan of crime fiction through readings, but also through these meetings characters.

I have almost forgotten nothing of that blessed time, and that's why I research these authors sometimes unjustly forgotten that my humble person participates a little to publicize them, or better known, new generations.
